Two words. Folk Horror.

In January, we’re going to Kickstarter with The Devil’s Sound - a six part series written and designed for immersive audio and set in David Barnett’s Withered Hill universe. We’re going to open up the space between the four books in Barnett’s series of novels, which are sublimely English evocations of contemporary horror, and boast a series of killer twists. And they’re a good read to boot.

The Devil’s Sound is, as you’d expect, a story in which you’re the centre of the narrative. Nothing happens unless you act, and while we provide the canvas and we write the story, the colour and the detail, the scares and the dread, all comes from you.

If that’s enough to get you interested, then all I’m asking right now is that you sign up at Kickstarter to follow the project:

The more interest we can drum up between now and January 9th, the better chance we have of hitting our funding target, and getting to make this. All being well, we release in Summer 2026, and you can (in January), pledge for the first episode, the whole season, or become a patron and get your name in the credits.
